In line with the
“Look East” and “Act East” policies of the Government of India,
MSTC has taken many steps with a view to benefit the farmers which will
subsequently benefit the entire North East Region. MSTC and other stakeholders
including NABARD, NERAMAC, CRWC, FPOs, etc. are working together for overall
development of the Agri-horti Eco- System in the NER.
MSTC and CRWC
launched the e-RAKAM portal (e-Rashtriya Kisan Agri Mandi), a first of
its kind initiative that connects farmers from small villages to the biggest
markets of the world through Internet.
e-RAKAM will minimize the role of agents/middlemen and the benefit shall be
passed on directly to the farmers thereby enabling them to increase their
income substantially. This unified platform for Agri & Horti
produces provides facilities for Sale, Purchase, Price Discovery, Fixed Price
Sale, etc. along with Integrated Logistics Services (last mile connectivity and
door delivery). MSTC can extend its e-commerce services comprising of auction,
procurement, e-sale and exclusive portals for handicrafts and other niche
products.
Moving ahead in
this direction, MSTC Ltd. has conducted a Workshop on “Unlocking Value
through e-Commerce & Supporting Agri-Horti sector through e-RaKAM” on
31st August, 2018 in Imphal, Manipur.
