Scarcity of Minor Mineral to End Soon: Forest and Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya

Forest & environment minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Sunday assured to meet the demand of minor mineral for various developmental works in private and public sectors in the State before the onset of working season.

Participating in a meeting held in Dispur here, Suklabaidya said the current scarcity of such mineral is partly artificial and the rest is due to certain official rules that need to be amended. He said the entire issue will be addressed with the help of IT and modern technology. The Minister said that scarcity of minor mineral should not be bottleneck in developmental works in the State.

Availability of minor mineral at affordable price from legal sources for all is priority of the government, he said. MSTC, a Central Government’s company responsible for e-auctioning of coal blocks and minor minerals has been roped in for e-auctioning of minor minerals in the State in association with AMTRON.
