MSTC to begin construction on new 11-storey Corporate Office Building at New Town, Kolkata




Bhumi Pujan (ground-breaking ceremony) for the proposed Corporate Building of MSTC was performed at site (New Town, Kolkata). Chaudhary Birender Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Steel, Govt. of India, laid first brick of the upcoming building in the presence of Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Hon’ble Minister of State (Steel), Shri Sunil Barthwal, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Shri B B Singh, CMD, MSTC Ltd. Shri A K Basu, Director (Finance) of MSTC Ltd., Shri Debashis Sen, CMD, WBHIDCO Ltd., distinguished guests, employees of MSTC Ltd. and others.

Corporate Office Building will be constructed on a Plot Area of 1337.798 Sq.mt. Total Built-Up area will be 48000 Sq.ft (approx.) and Height of Building will be Basement + G + 10 Floor.
 
The building will be in composite structure and shall be constructed with steel sections for column, beam and bracing. The slab shall be of reinforced cement concrete. The proposed building shall be GRIHA 3 star rated green building.



This was followed by a brief cultural function at Hotel Novotel, New Town, Kolkata where Chaudhary Birender Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Steel, unveiled the foundation stone. Hon’ble Minister of Steel also unveiled the model of the building.

Shri B B Singh, CMD, MSTC Ltd.  handed over bonus share certificates to Hon’ble Minister of Steel, Govt. of India.

Meeting with Secretary, Ministry of Development of North East Region (DoNER) at Kolkata on 2nd June 2017





Meeting convened on 2nd June, 2017 at MSTC Head Office, Kolkata regarding marketing of agricultural produce of North-East region to rest of the country.  Shri Naveen Verma, Secretary, Ministry of DoNER chaired the meeting.

Shri J.K. Sinha, Joint Secretary, Ministry DoNER, Shri B.B. Singh, CMD MSTC,  Shri A K Basu, Director (Finance) MSTC, Shri Pankaj Prasad, Managing Director, NERAMAC, representative of NGOs handling agricultural produce in the parts of Nagaland were present in the meeting.  Director General & Deputy Director General of Indian Chamber of Commerce, Representatives of Food Processors, Buyers of North-East and others were also present.

Secretary, Ministry of DoNER took feedback from customers and ICC members regarding expectation for infrastructural facilities to be provided so that the agri produce specially large cardamom, pineapple, ginger, turmeric, squash, kiwi, orange, cinnamon, fruits etc. can be marketed successfully so that growers of North-East get market value for their produce.

Secretary, Ministry of DoNER and other dignitaries also have a fruitful discussion regarding future marketing of agri produce of North-East region.

It was decided that MSTC would host an e-Auction for sale of pineapple on 8th June, 2017. Secretary requested for investment in North –east for food processing and value added services so that the agri-produce of North –east reach PAN India market.
